Nigel Ward
My Triangle 2006.06
How long have you lived in the Triangle?
I grew up and lived in Bega for 28 years and moved to Cobargo two years ago to join Angela and Rob at Benny’s Butchery
What is your favourite landmark?
Cobargo Pub springs to mind, but if you mean scenery, Horseshoe Bay and Cuttagee Beach and the whole coastline are hard to beat.
What makes you really laugh?
The photo in last year’s Triangle of the elephants walking down the main street – also some of the funny yarns we hear in the shop – they keep us laughing for days.
What could be improved in the Triangle?
How about some more restaurants – eg a pizza shop, and also, what happened to the proposed golf course in Cobargo? A cinema wouldn’t be bad. There is almost nowhere for young people to go at night.
What is the best thing about living here?
The warmth and friendliness of the locals which gives me a feeling of belonging. Everyone has a friendly smile for each other.
If you could live anywhere in the Triangle, where would you choose?
I am so happy where I live, Terlichs Road, Quaama, and with our first baby on the way – what a wonderful place for it to grow up in.
What is your favourite sport?
Definitely motor sports. I only watch it on TV, but my dream is to actually compete one day. I also enjoy golf, cricket and footy.
Who is your hero?
Ford Racing Team driver Dick Johnson. If you read this, Dick, how about a few laps around Bathurst, with me in the driver’s seat?
Who would you like to sit next to on a long bus trip?
My lovely girlfriend Ashlee – she is heaps more fun than all my mates! Sorry fellas.
