Woman in a hat and sunglasses holding a pruning saw.Pruning Saw

In this regular column, Triangle Tool Library members share the tools they love and what they use them for. First up is Cecile Bower and her favourite: the pruning saw.

‘It’s my favourite tool,’ says Cecile. ‘I prune trees. I cut down small logs.’

For Cecile, borrowing means being able to use a tool she couldn’t otherwise afford.

‘I couldn’t afford to buy one of these. I don’t know what they’d be worth with the battery pack. A few hundred dollars, maybe more.’

Her enthusiasm for the library is just as strong as her enthusiasm for the saw.

‘Yeah, I love it. It’s just unique and it’s such a godsend.’

Would she recommend joining? Absolutely – with one small reservation:

‘I recommend other people come and join it, but I don’t want them to borrow the pruning saw.’

Ha! Ha! Ha!

We’re open Tuesday & Friday, 9.00 am to noon, and Saturday 9.00 am to 11.45 am. Check out the Triangle Tool Library website.

Acknowledgment of Country

The Triangle is a community paper, principally for the region bounded by the three prominent mountains: Peak Alone, Gulaga and Mumbulla. It is produced on the traditional lands of the Yuin nation and we acknowledge that this was and will always be Yuin Country. We are grateful for their thousands of years of careful and deliberate stewardship of Country and pay our respects to Yuin Elders past, present and emerging.
