Bermagui Men’s Shed has just acquired a new sculpture

Darren Bailey is a Yuin artist who is known for his scrap metal repurposed sculptures. During transportation to this year’s Sculpture Bermagui one of his pieces had broken. Bermagui Men’s Shed came to his assistance with a workspace and the tools to fix it. As thanks, Darren created and gifted this piece to the Men’s Shed. By repurposing everyday items, he made a new sculpture out of 482 knives, 88 forks, 12 spoons and a Holden fly wheel. The piece is called Joolah which means lyre bird in the Yuin language.
