Bega’s March for Native Forests
On Sunday 22 March 2026, Bega will once again join the nationwide movement to protect native forests and the precious biodiversity they are home to. We are calling for an immediate end to industrial logging in all public forests, in favour of a new era of restoration and regeneration, accountability and respect for living systems.
Shockingly, over 96% of native forests logged in south-east NSW are wood-chipped and sent overseas to make a range of paper products. Native forest logging is not only environmentally destructive but also runs at a massive economic loss. Over the past four years, the Forestry Corporation of NSW has cost taxpayers $85 million, whilst decimating the integrity of our forests and pushing vulnerable species like the greater glider to the brink of extinction.
This does not have to continue until there’s nothing left. Take action with us!
