The Cobargo Red Cross offers catering services for funerals, special occasions, clearing sales and so on in the Cobargo district. We provide sandwiches, slices, tea and coffee. We support our local farmers by assisting Bega Red Cross working in the saleyards canteen providing morning tea and lunch on Tuesdays and for the stores sale on Thursdays.

We can thank Honor’s mother for bringing her and Tim to Bermagui. After leaving Lord Howe Island, they wanted to open a restaurant somewhere small and beautiful by the beach. On the long slow drive from Brisbane, they looked at many towns but realised Bermi had everything, ‘and why would I not choose the place where my mother lived?’
On 12 November, Bega Valley Shire Councillors Allen, Fitzpatrick, Nadin, Noble and Porter voted to replace Cuttagee Bridge with a two-lane concrete structure. Since Council said it intended to replace the bridge in 2021, there has been strong community support for a single-lane structure that reflects its heritage and aesthetic values and considers its fragile coastal environment.
The Cobargo Folk Festival is a true gem in our regional cultural calendar and next year’s festival promises to be one of the biggest and best yet.
