Winter is a beautifully quiet time in Tilba, but that can be tough on local businesses. Here at the Drom we made the very tough decision to pause our weekly live music for winter to save a bit of money with an eye towards a big spring. And now that spring is in the air, here’s a sneak preview of what we have coming up for the village and environs to enjoy.

With the Tilba Festival just around the corner, the Tilba Rocks crew are warming up with a Father’s Day Boot Toss in the Beer Garden on 6 September, so bring Dad along for some lunch and see if he can toss the boot.

We’re installing a TV up the back in The Barn for the community to enjoy watching some sport together, including the AFL Grand Final, which falls on Tilba Festival day.

On the music front we are excited to be bringing back live bands on a Saturday night each month, with local bands Drive Time, Howlin’ Mitch and Shannanigans among the first few bookings.

Wednesday’s Open Mic has continued strongly through winter, as has the Thursday String Sessions, and both will continue all year round.

DJs are getting a spot for spring too. The first Saturday of the month will see a relaxed afternoon hosted by Bassick Beats, a family-friendly beer garden session.

The Tilba Rocks crew has some more events in the works too, with another Trivia Night being planned, and the annual Darcy Cup on Melbourne Cup Day is back by popular demand. Will Brian, the current Champion Foxy, be looking to go four in a row – or will he retire to give his little sister Snuffy a chance to continue the dynasty? Time will tell.
