Year 6 students’ crazy socks day
The Year 6 students of Tilba Public School have shown remarkable leadership and community spirit with their recent fundraiser to support their end-of-year excursion to Barranguba (Montague Island).
The highlight of the fundraiser was a lively Crazy Sock Day, for which students and staff alike donned outrageous, colourful socks – some even crafted their own unique designs! For a gold coin donation, everyone joined in the fun, creating a vibrant and joyful atmosphere throughout the school.
Adding to the excitement, a colouring-in and design-your-own-crazy-socks competition was held, with special sock-themed prizes awarded to the most creative entries. The day was further sweetened by a popular bake sale featuring a wide array of delicious home-baked treats, generously donated by families and staff.
Thanks to the enthusiasm and hard work of the Year 6 students, the event raised an impressive $281.20. The funds will go directly towards making their Barranguba excursion a memorable and enriching experience.
The school community is incredibly proud of the leadership and initiative shown by the Year 6 cohort, who not only organised a fun and engaging event but also fostered a strong sense of teamwork and school spirit.
Well done to all involved – this fundraiser was a resounding success and a wonderful example of student leadership in action!
