Authentic Lives at Tilba Central Makers Emporium
Residents of Central Tilba and surrounds can expect an actual paper letter in their mailbox very soon. You’ll know it’s from Tilba Central Makers Emporium (TCME) because it will be sealed with wax. Inside you will discover a little bit of collectable literary magic. Keep your eyes peeled, or visit the Central Tilba Post Office to get your hands on one before mid-month.
Last year Joshua Humphreys of Heartwood Traditional Building undertook the incredible task of building and installing the heavy hardwood timber barn doors at the front of TCME. This outstanding feature reflects the mission of Heartwood … we believe good building comes from patience, integrity and a genuine love of the craft. Every beam, joint and detail matters – because buildings should be made to last and made with heart. This statement rings true for all involved at TCME. Integrity and authenticity are the lifeblood of this endeavour. It is fitting to highlight the stunning barn doors, because doors in some ways are one of the most important aspects of any building. Like all meaningful projects, patience is key. So, we patiently await the opportunity to open our big barn doors and welcome you all in.
For Tilba people and surrounding curious neighbours, TCME will be home to true craftsmanship and meaningful events with old school values rooted in longevity, skill and community spirit.
At the rear of the building Station St. Gallery will showcase fine art, facilitate workshops and host small events.
TCME is at 4 Station Street, just off Bate Street, between The Drom and The Central Tilba Bakery.
If you would like to be kept in the loop about the grand opening, events, makers, exhibitions and more via wax-sealed letters and whatnot, please visit our website: tilbacentral.com.au.
